This is your go-to guide when you're in the dark times and you don't know where to go or how to breakthrough. It's going to teach you how to master those limiting emotions instead of just praying they disappear…Imagine being able to get back to building your legacy in seconds. Imagine what that would do for you!
So, let’s get to it! When I was starting my career and business, I was obsessed with my work. The idea of taking a vacation scared the crap out of me. I had this limiting belief- the more I obsess, the more successful I'll be and if I'm working hard, that will guarantee my success.
I had this fear of what happens if I don't work my ass off all the time.
I thought that once my business grew or my bank account grew, then I could relax. But as those things started to happen, I found that I was even busier. I found that I was even more stressed.
Have you ever noticed when you hit one goal (you’re not satisfied), so you start immediately on your next goal?!
There's this never-ending feeling of whatever you do, it's never enough. That's where I was! I couldn't relax. I found that even as I achieved, I just became busier and busier.
“Learn to work harder on yourself than you do on your business.” -Jim Roan
I’m giving you the tools I used (based on Jim’s quote) to work less and enjoy life more!
The 3 Pillars of Sustainable Success
Pillar One: Relationships
If your relationships are out of whack (especially your intimate relationship), how does your business go?! If you were having challenges in your marriage, how is your business doing?! Not very good at all! You don't bring positive energy to what you do.
Everyone will be able to feel your negativity.
Everyone will be able to feel it.
So, if your relationships are out of whack, it's going to affect your business.
Let me ask you this: Do you care as much about improving your relationship as you do about improving your business? (Be honest with yourself). Do you put intentional time into making your spouse feel loved? If not, think about the consequences of that… think about what happens when you're obsessed with your business, but not focus on your spouse at all. You're asking for a lack of spousal support. Think about what your spouse sees. Your spouse sees you obsessed with a business. That's not growing the way you want it to and you're spending less time with them. You're not as present with them when you are with them. You're always scrolling your phone. When you're with your kids, your spouse is seeing you scrolling your phone and all you're doing is telling them what's not working and how frustrating it is because you haven't seen success yet.
What are they going to feel?! We need to realize that we cause a lack of spousal support.
You're not bringing them into your team! You're not counting it as BOTH of your business.
If you spent as much time focusing on giving to your spouse, as you did to build your business, then your business would grow.
In the beginning of your relationship, you were marketing yourself. You were trying to show your best qualities and all you did was focus on giving to your partner and making their life better. That's all you focused on in the beginning. So, naturally, because you gave and gave and gave and gave and gave and they naturally wanted to reciprocate.
But somewhere along the way, you started saying, but they're not doing what I expect them to do. And I'm going to withhold love until they change. Does that solve anything? No! It keeps perpetuating a vicious cycle of withholding love and it's not going to build your relationship. It's not going to build your business as if your relationship is out of whack and plays into your business.
My challenge to you: GIVE! Get back to giving in your relationship!
We have a special promotion coming up all about love, intimacy, and, and winning spousal support. I'm even going to do a call for you on this, a group called stay tuned for that. It will be coming in your email inbox really, really soon.
Pillar TWO: Self-care
Meaning: You have to take a break! If you aren't taking a regularly scheduled break in your business, you will burn out!
You're literally asking for no creativity. You're asking for your energy to die away and if you're burnt out, your clients + customers + prospects will feel it. People don't buy a product. They buy a feeling and that feeling is something you transmit on a regular basis AND their bullshit meter is so high. So, if you are feeling burnt out in your business, it’s time to take a break! Do something that brings you JOY (and do it often!)
Intentionally schedule time off! Intentionally schedule hikes and drinks with friends!
When you can refresh your mind (all of a sudden) creativity and energy comes back into your business. Burn out is a choice.
It is a choice to consistently obsess over what is not working instead of taking time to recharge and get back to a state of contribution. You have to recharge your batteries!
My challenge to you: I want you to make a list today of all the things that bring you joy outside of your business and schedule that into your calendar!
Pillar THREE: Your own happiness. Your own growth
How much focus do you truly spend on focusing on your dreams and the parts of your character and personality that leads you to your dreams? Notice, I didn't say time. I said focus! How much focus do you truly spend on your dreams and develop the parts of your character and personality that lead you to your dreams?
Your income is a direct reflection of the depth of your personal growth. Not the quantity.
If you can spend time diving deep into one page of a personal growth book, it is so much more empowering than reading the entire book in a week!
Just read one page…AND THEN APPLY IT! Then you can read the next page and chapter and book!
I'm telling you right now that when your happiness is based on something in the future, you will never be happy because it's a moving target. That's what most people do! They say “I'll be happy when I'm successful.” No, you won't!
Think about the biggest goal you've ever achieved outside of your family. How long did the happiness or fulfillment last? A couple of days?! Business success and money do NOT lead to happiness.
Happiness is what leads to those things. You need to master happiness first.
If you're not spending time focusing on things that bring you that level of joy, you're asking your business to suffer because people's bullshit meter is so high. They can tell when you're not happy and fulfilled. They can tell when you're not taking care of yourself.
If you’re not taking care of yourself and you don't feel happy and fulfilled and you're obsessing over your business (being totally burnt out), why would they ever want to join you?! Think about it! Why would they join your opportunity? It doesn't make sense.
