Welcome to the Path To Mindset Mastery! My name is Brad Bizjack! Today is all about one of the most powerful tools you can use as a business owner.

Do you find yourself losing motivation or momentum? Almost like you want your business to grow, but for some reason, you can’t seem to gain the traction you need to create something? Almost like you have these big dreams or big goals, and you have the motivation to get started, but you can’t figure it out?! You probably just keep thinking, “Why can’t I succeed,” and you consistently focus on why you can’t figure it out. It’s just frustrating!

Man, I felt that way for such a long time. I kept getting so frustrated about why I wasn’t succeeding. I had these huge dreams about my business, and what I could create for my life, how this could be the breaking point of mediocrity in my life. But everything I tried didn’t work. I just felt so stuck. I kept having these bad days, like 3 or 4 days a week about why I wasn’t getting to where I wanted to be, and I couldn’t figure out why I was stuck. My laptop would stare at me, begging me to change my life, and I had all the tools I needed, but I couldn’t figure out what was stopping me! It was so frustrating because I wasn’t earning the money I wanted. I wasn’t hitting the ranks I wanted. I wasn’t achieving the dreams I thought I deserved.

And I was making one very critical mistake and that what I want to help you with today. What did that entire story of struggle have in common? I was focused on me. None of it had to do with serving anybody else! I was selfish. It was just about me. In fact, I didn’t realize this at the time, but me being consistently frustrated in my business was actually a sign that I was just focusing on myself.

So let’s dive into this podcast with a question. Does your life serve others?

Because if it does, motivation isn’t something you’ll need to find. Inspiration will come from within you.

One of the main reasons we don’t have the motivation, or if we lose motivation, or lose momentum, it’s because we’re focusing on OURSELVES. Most people are selfish without realizing it. We’re so focused on what we’re not getting, otherwise known as expectations. And this takes the focus on puts it only on ourselves.

When your primary function in your day to day life is giving, you’ll have a happy life.

Now, this isn’t saying don’t take care of yourself. You absolutely should.

So think about why you set these goals in your life and your business. Why is it?

Is it for money?
Is it for time?
Is it to look cool?
Is it to amount to something bigger?
Or would you say it’s to grow?

The goals we set don’t mean anything by themselves. What we care about deeply without seeing it is the person we’re becoming along the way. That’s what we’re going to care about most when we’re on our death bed.

And if you don’t feel like you’re growing, you feel like you’re dying inside. This is why if we hold ourselves back from going after big goals, we feel hollow and empty inside. It’s because we’re not pushing ourselves to grow, so we feel like we’re dead inside.

But when you grow, don’t you feel fully alive? And when you feel fully alive, what do you do? You share it.

So we grow SO we can give. That’s why we grow.

Human beings will do so much more for other people than they will for themselves.

What if you started each day with that? What if you started each day with the words, “How can I serve more people today?!” Everything would be different!

Because service to many leads to greatness. If you serve more people, your life will change.

If you help enough people get what they want, you get everything you want. If you help enough people pay their bills, you forget about your bills.

Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than take in payment. So if you want to feel more alive, GIVE MORE VALUE. It’s that simple. That can be your time. That can be your attention. That can be your money. That can be your knowledge. That can be all of the above. But each day, your central theme should run around giving more value.

And if it’s not, I’m willing to bet that the results in life and business aren’t ideal. And most of the day focuses on what’s missing, otherwise known as what you’re not getting. Notice the difference. When you concentrate on GETTING, you feel empty inside. When you focus on GIVING you feel alive inside.

An example from my own life is my schedule. I’m INSANELY busy now. Way more than I’ve ever been in my life. And when I focus on how I don’t have time to relax, I get stressed out, overwhelmed, and a lower state. Because I’m focusing on what I’m GETTING. But when I stop, and I focus on how much I’m helping other people each day and how much I’m making their life better, I feel alive because I’m focused on GIVING. And guess what? When I focus on giving, I find plenty of time to recharge because my mind isn’t focused on what’s missing from my life. The same thing will happen in your life!

We feel the best as human beings when we give. When we give our time, our money, our teachings, our service to others. Think about it. Would it fulfill you more to receive a 1000 check for Christmas? Or would it fulfill you more to spend 1000 dollars on Christmas presents for kids that don’t have any Christmas presents coming their way and watching their eyes light up when they open them? Obviously the latter. Giving fills our cup.

Like for example, every year at Christmas, Janiece leaves a $100 tip and walks away. She doesn’t do it for the recognition. She doesn’t do it for the praise. She does it because it makes someone’s day better. How fulfilled do you think that makes her? 100 out of 10. And from that emotional state, what could she accomplish? Anything.

Oh, and by the way, there’s nothing wrong with receiving. I love money. I love time. I love gifts. I love all of it. There’s nothing wrong with receiving. It’s just not what I lead with.

This is why we always talk about focusing on the journey instead of the outcome.

When you’re focused on the results, you’re getting (aka what you’re getting or receiving), what typically comes up in terms of emotions when that’s your primary focus? Anger, resentment, impatience, frustration, anxiety, etc. So when you’re attached to the outcome, you’re focused on getting.

But when you’re focused on the journey and the people you’re inspiring each day (aka focusing on what you’re giving and how you’re serving others), what typically comes up in terms of emotions? Happiness, passion, aliveness, gratitude, strength, caring. The list goes on and on.

And which of those two sets of emotions, typically result in the bigger business and bank account? Obviously the latter.

So this proves something. You totally control your income. Because your income is determined by how many people you serve and how well you serve them!

Sure, you can focus on getting to success club, but it’s not going to lead to greatness in your life.

Sure, you can focus on how diamond or 2 star or 5 star is all you want, but it won’t lead to greatness.

Service to many leads to greatness. And you serve more by giving more.

If you GIVE well, you will EARN well.

What if you apply this to marriage? If you give passion, excitement, love, service, compassion, regardless of what they do? Would it positively affect your relationship? Damn right it would! It’s because you led with giving.

And here’s the thing. It’s not give so I receive. It’s give because it’s a way of life. Because it’s the right thing to do.

So there’s one tip I have for you guys: GIVE what you want to FEEL, and you’ll FEEL what you gave!

How many of you have heard me say that I want you to TEACH what you struggle with? Why? Because you’re giving what you want to feel. If you give what you need to learn, you’ll learn that skill so fast because you share it with others from a beautiful state.

And this is how you influence people by the way! Your influence is determined by how abundantly you place other people’s interests first.

So let’s use the example of teaching confidence because you struggle with confidence. If you do that, are you focused on YOUR needs or the needs of OTHERS? Others! And you inspire them and their life changes! You successfully influenced them!

But if you focus on not having the courage to share with people because you’re not confident and you’re afraid of what people will think of you, whose needs are being placed first? Yours? Or others? Yours. And so you don’t inspire anyone, and you haven’t influenced them.

So if you want to be influential in people’s lives, place other’s needs ahead of yours!

So here’s a challenge for you – start teaching what you struggle with the most. If you struggle with anxiety, teach people how to overcome anxiety. If. You struggle with emotional overeating, teach others how to break through it. You’ll be blown away by what happens!

Most people share just the top level bullshit instead of what they’re actually challenged by, and THAT is why they don’t influence others. You gotta place their needs ahead of your own. And you do that by being vulnerable enough to share your challenges. By other people’s needs, I mean, what do they ACTUALLY struggle with? It’s not a 5-day free clean eating group most of the time. It’s believing that it’s possible for them to be the best version of themselves. If you look internally at what you’re deeply challenged by, chances are you’ll find what your audience needs most.

And this requires insane vulnerability. Because the most valuable gift you have to offer is yourself. So often when we think about giving, we think about donating money or volunteering time, and those things ARE giving, absolutely. But giving isn’t just about that. It’s about giving all of who you are.

For example, if you do a post, but you hold back a little because of fear, does it help someone nearly as much? Nope. Giving is what starts the cycle. People will FEEL a difference! The more you give all of who you are, the more comes back to you.

So you have to let giving drive you instead of getting. Because if you’re focused on what’s missing from your life, you’re focused on YOU. You’re focused on what’s not working. You’re focused on the results YOU are not getting. And so what do you do? You stop. And so you never receive anything and start to get into a state of learned helplessness where you believe that it doesn’t work FOR YOU and that something’s wrong with YOU and that it won’t matter what you try. It won’t work for you.

But that’s not true. The only wrong thing is that you’re focused on what you’re getting or not getting instead of what you’re giving.

When you switch the primary driver of your life to giving, the results don’t matter nearly as much because your ACTION is what fulfills you instead of the RESULT. And so if you don’t get someone to sign up, are you affected by it? Not NEARLY as much. So do you stop taking action and lose momentum? Nope! So what happens? You get results.

Write this down: Results are a result of not basing your happiness on the result.

So many people let just the results drive them. And are results important? Sure they are! It’s just not what we lead with! You can change your approach. You can try something new to get a new result. Let the journey drive you. Let the action drive you. Let the person you become drive you.

So real quick, something you need to understand is that RECEIVING isn’t bad. It’s not wrong to earn money. It’s not bad to rank advance. It’s not wrong to have the things. I don’t want you to get that from this talk. It’s just not what you lead with. So the key to effective giving is to stay OPEN to receiving.

It’s not, I’m gonna give SO I can receive.

It’s, I’m gonna give because it’s the right thing to do, and I’m open to cool shit happening along the way!

So back to the original question I started with: Does my life genuinely serve others? Is the intention of my life to make other’s lives better.

When the answer to that becomes YES, life changes forever.

Because all the goals won’t mean anything if you aren’t giving to others. This is why there are so many people with money but no happiness. Real wealth is measured in your character. And rock-solid character is someone who puts their primary focus on making other’s lives better.

Make your primary driver CONTRIBUTION TO OTHER’S LIVES.

The money, the freedom, all of it are just a fun byproduct.

But make other’s lives better. And your life will naturally change!
